What The Audit cannot see

It reads your public pages and the files you upload. Anything else is outside its view, and some checks are deliberately out of scope.

What readers do on your site, unless you upload a Google Analytics 4 export. Search Console shows how Google sends you readers, not what they do once they arrive.

Other outlets' own data. Comparisons with peers use public estimates from a third-party data provider, and are labelled Estimated.

Anything behind a login, a draft or a preview link.

Security and accessibility in depth. The Audit reads your public security headers and AI-crawler rules, but it is not a malware scan, a vulnerability test or an accessibility (WCAG) audit.

Every URL. The technical crawl is deliberately bounded; the report says what it sampled.

Editorial judgement. Framing is coded automatically by a language model. Treat those findings as machine judgements, and read them with an editor's eye.

Every report ends by saying what it does not cover.
